Course Description

The Diploma of Hospitality Management is an intensive program delivered on campus via a partnership with AccorHotels Group. This qualification provides students with a broad understanding of hospitality, and begins to explore in substantial depth, theoretical concepts relating to: hotel management, business operations, hospitality budgeting, workplace diversity, rostering, and service quality.

Students will benefit from exposure to AccorHotels Group by participating in a hotel industry placement. This placement will involve exposure to food and beverage service, housekeeping, front office operations and concierge. Students will undertake supervised training in areas including operational management and planning and leadership.

Some of the venues for placement include Ibis World Square, Mercure Sydney Airport, Novotel/Ibis Darling Harbour Sofitel Sydney Wentworth and Pullman Sydney Hyde Park.

Pathways into the Diploma of Hospitality also exist for students who have completed Certificate IV in Patisserie (SIT40716) or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (SIT40516).
